The Site

The site is situated on the north side of the river Glen, just off the A15, south of Bourne in South Lincolnshire. We are close to Waterside Garden Centre, which has a large restaurant and a Petrol Station 500m up the road. This historic site was a water cress farm and later a plant nursery. From 20+ years of neglect it’s becoming a functional and resourceful place again.

There is a one-way system around the site, and once you have visited the reception office, you pass close to the river bank and round to the pitches. There is ample space to enable you to safely site your vehicle. Pitches are numbered and subtly lit at night.

We are child, dog, cat and rabbit friendly. The opposite river bank is a very popular dog walk, heading into the picturesque fens toward Tongue End and the nature reserve along this stretch of The Macmillian Way.

Pitches

Each of the 12 fully serviced pitches are 9m x 10m, in which is a gravel topped hardstanding area of 5.2m x 9m. This provides space for one vehicle (on grass), caravan and awning on gravel with ties into the grass. Heavy duty pegs are advised for pinning awnings into the hardstanding area. Pitches are separated with a screen of evergreen laurel hedging.

The subtly illuminated hook-up pillars service up to three pitches each, with water and a strong, good quality 16A electric supply. Each pitch has its own grey water drain point for added convenience.

There is a covered communal chemical waste disposal point.

Facilities

Inside the hand built amenity block cabin are two large welcoming showers, two clean roomy toilets and two instant hot water wash basins in a central hallway. There is also a shaver socket, hand dryer and paper towels for your convenience. (See photographs below)

I have now finished the covered outside dishwashing and laundry area. It has two modest 1 + 1/2 bowl kitchen sinks each with a bowl & drainer. I’ve also installed a washing machine which is available as a pay per load of £5. (Please do check out the facebook page for other regular updates and developments).
