Welcome to Field Farm Fisheries

Located in Wrentham, Suffolk, Field Farm Fisheries is a family-run business offering premier fishing and a relaxing “hideaway” campsite. We are just a short commute from Southwold, Kessingland, Walberswick, Lowestoft, Halesworth, and Beccles.

While our fishing lakes are open all year round, our campsite is open from mid-March until mid-October.


Camping & Caravanning

Our sheltered site overlooks the fisheries and is surrounded by peaceful farmland with access to scenic public footpaths. We welcome tents, touring caravans, trailer tents, and motorhomes.

Pitch Information & Prices

  • Non-Electric Pitch: £19 per night (includes 2 people)

  • Electric Pitch: £25 per night (Caravans & Motorhomes only; includes 2 people)

  • Extra Guests: £2 per person, per night

  • Dogs: £1 per night (must be kept on a lead; private walking field available)

  • Gazebos: £1 per night

  • Glamping: Log Cabins (£30/night) and Pods (£35/night) available.

On-Site Facilities

  • Shower Blocks: Separate Ladies and Gentlemen’s facilities with hot showers (£1).

  • Washing Area: Four sinks for dishwashing (Open March 10th – Oct 31st).

  • Essentials: Fresh water supply and chemical waste disposal point.

  • Storage: Secure caravan storage is available—please call for details.

Site Rules

  • Check-in: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Check-in after 9:00 PM by prior arrangement only).

  • Check-out: By 12:00 PM on day of departure.

  • Restrictions: No generators allowed. Fires and BBQs may be restricted during extreme weather.

  • Refunds: All deposits and payments are non-refundable.


The Fishing Lakes

We feature six well-stocked ponds with a healthy mix of coarse fish including Mirror, Common, Ghost, Grass, and Leather Carp, as well as Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Chub, and Golden Orfe.

Essential Fishing Rules

  • Hours: 7:00 AM until Dusk. Day fishing does not require a booking; anglers pay on the bank.

  • Licensing: A valid rod licence is required.

  • Tackle: Max 2 rods per person (1 hook per rod). Barbless hooks only. All landing nets must be dipped.

  • Prohibited Bait: No boilies, nuts, glue, fish/shellfish, spinning, artificial baits, pop-ups, or dumbbells.

  • Ground Bait: Maximum limit of 2 litres.

  • Fish Care: No keepnets (except matches). All fish must be returned to the same pond.

  • Supervision: Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times on the same pond.


On-Site Tackle & Bait Shop

Our shop is well-stocked with competitive prices and is open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM. * Stock: Wide selection of tackle and bait, including fresh maggots.

  • Refreshments: Cold drinks and snacks are available.

  • Service: If the shop is closed during business hours, please call at the house for service.

Q Where is Field Farm Fisheries located?

We are located in Wrentham, Suffolk, within easy reach of Southwold, Kessingland, Walberswick, Lowestoft, Halesworth, and Beccles.

Q Is the site open all year?

Our fishing lakes and tackle shop are open all year round. However, the campsite is open seasonally from mid-March until mid-October.

Q Camping & Caravanning, What time is check-in and check-out?

Pitches are available from 12:00 PM on the day of arrival. Check-out is by 12:00 PM on your day of departure. All campers must be checked in by 9:00 PM unless otherwise agreed in advance.

Q Do you allow dogs and children?

Yes! Both children and dogs are very welcome. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and owners must clean up after them. We have a large private field specifically for dog walking that leads to public footpaths.

Q Are there electric hook-up points?

Yes, several pitches have electric hook-ups, though these are reserved for caravans and motorhomes only.

Q Can we have fires or barbecues?

Fires and barbecues are generally permitted, but may be restricted during periods of extreme weather for safety reasons. Please note that generators are strictly prohibited on site.

Q What facilities are available for campers?

We have a freshwater supply, a toilet block, and separate Ladies' and Gentlemen’s shower blocks (showers are £1). There are also four sinks available for washing dishes and a chemical waste disposal point.
Note: The washing block is open from March 10th to the end of October.

Q Fishing Do I need to book a day's fishing in advance?

No, day fishing does not need to be booked. Anglers can arrive from 7:00 AM until dusk and pay on the bank. Night fishing, however, must be booked in advance.

Q What kind of fish are in the ponds?

We have six ponds stocked with a variety of coarse fish, including Mirror, Common, Ghost, Grass, and Leather Carp, as well as Bream, Tench, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Chub, and Golden Orfe. We do not have pike, trout, or salmon.

Q What are the main fishing rules?

A valid fishing licence is required.

Barbless hooks only (one hook per rod).

Maximum of two rods per person.

All landing nets must be dipped before use.

No keepnets (except for matches) and all fish must be returned to the pond.

Q Are any baits banned?

Yes. To protect our fish and water quality, we do not allow boilies, nuts, glue, fish, shellfish, spinning, artificial baits, pop-ups, or dumbbells. Ground bait is limited to a maximum of 2 litres.

Q Can children fish alone?

No. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and must fish on the same pond as their guardian.
